Trends are some of the most important elements in technical analysis theory, and are widely used by investors as a basis for investment decisions. Trend development can be explained theoretically based on financial growth in the companies and on investors’ mental state. The Trend Bible is based on a research work on trends and what happens to stocks in rising or falling trends or that have broken out from trends. Investtech has studied 350,297 signals from trends in stock prices on the Nordic stock exchanges in the period 1996 to 2015. The research results are presented in this comprehensive work. We emphasise how the results matter for practical investments on the stock exchange, and demonstrate how an investor can take advantage of the proven statistically significant effects.

The work is part of a bigger project on analysis of technical signals, supported by the Norwegian Research Council.
