Toronto Stock Exchange weakly higher vendredi

The market showed a small gain vendredi, and TSX Composite Index (GSPTSE) ended the day at 21947 points, which is an increase of 0.6 percent. For the week as a whole the index showed only a slight change of -0.1%.

1178 shares showed a gain and 772 showed a loss. 496 shares were unchanged and closed at the same price as the previous day. There was no trading in 605 shares.

Total value of the trading volume for shares and primary capital certificates vendredi was approximately 11.8 billion.

Toronto Dominion Bank (TD) fell sharply to close at 74.80 , down 5.8 percent. We must go back to mars 23. 2020 to find an equally steep drop. That time l'action lost 7.2 percent. L'action broke down through the support at 77.28 in formation rectangulaire. This triggered a sell signal on increasing volume and a further drop to 73.15 within four months is indicated.

TC Energy (TRP) rose sharply to close at 51.44 , up 3.3 percent. The previous time l'action gained this much was juillet 31. 2023, when it closed up 4.4 percent. Technically it also looks good. L'action is trend wise positive in the medium term, has broken up through the resistance at 50.70 and a further increase is indicated.

Royal Bank Of Canada (RY) ended with a solid gain of 1.9 percent and closed at 138 . We must go back to février 14 to find an equally strong rise. That time l'action gained 2.0 percent. L'action triggered a buy signal by the break up through the resistance at 136 in formation double-creux. A further increase to 140 within three weeks is indicated.

OpenText (OTEX) crashed and ended the day at 41.38 , which is a drop of 14.8 percent. L'action has never lost more in one day since we started measuring this janvier 1. 2013. It was also high volume. Overall it was traded for 130 millions in l'action, which is seven times as much as normal daily turnover. It does not look good technically either. L'action is trend wise negative in the medium term, has resistance at 44.60 and a further decline is indicated.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (FM) was up 10.7 percent to close at 18.58 . We must go back to octobre 2023 to find a higher close for l'action. This past month l'action has gained as much as 22.5 percent. It also looks good technically. L'action is trend wise positive in the medium term and a further increase is indicated.
