US 500 sharply higher

The market rallied Thursday, and S&P 500 closed at 5485 points after an increase of 2.0 percent. This past week the index has gained as much as 4.0 percent.

404 shares showed a gain and 95 showed a loss. 1 shares were unchanged and closed at the same price as the previous day. There was no trading in 0 shares.

Total value of the trading volume for shares and primary capital certificates Thursday was approximately 350.0 billion.

UnitedHealth Group developed negatively and fell 0.9 percent to a close of 424 $. We must go back to Apr 2024 to find a lower close for the stock. This past week the stock has lost as much as 27.5 percent. Nor does it look good technically. The stock is trend wise positive in the medium term, but has resistance at 462 $.
ServiceNow closed at 939 $ after a huge gain of 15.5 percent. The stock has never gained more in one day since we started measuring this Aug 2. 2012. It also looks good technically. The stock is assessed as technically slightly positive for the medium long term.
Netflix closed up 4.5 percent to 1097 $. The stock thereby broke the previous record from Feb 14 and set a new all time high. The stock has now risen for the fifth day in a row. It also looks good technically. The stock is trend wise positive in the medium term, has broken up through resistance at 1060 $ and a further increase is indicated.
IBM closed at 229 $ after posting a loss of 6.6 percent. The stock has never lost more in one day since Apr 25. 2024, when it was down 8.3 percent. The volume was also high. At session end it was bought and sold shares for about 3538 million $ in the stock, which equals three times mean daily turnover. It does not look good technically either. The stock is trend wise positive in the medium term, but has broken down through support at 235 $.
PepsiCo closed at 135 $ after a steep drop of 4.9 percent. We must go back to Oct 5. 2023 to find an equally steep drop. That time the stock lost 5.2 percent. The stock is with that down 7.3 percent after the sell signal from the rectangle formation three weeks ago.
